Housing
University dormitories (internáty) are cheap and the default for international students; Bratislava's private market is the country's priciest (rooms roughly EUR 300 to 500) while Košice and the regional cities cost noticeably less. The Vienna-proximity premium is real in the capital.
Rental contracts want notarised signatures for some official uses; a proper contract also supports the residence file, though students at universities are spared the separate accommodation-confirmation step.
