## Visa & Immigration

Whether you need an entry visa depends on nationality. Visa-required students normally apply for a long-stay D study visa before travelling; the standard visa fee is EUR 60 for single entry and EUR 100 for multiple entry, subject to exemptions.

For courses resulting in residence of more than eight months, the current student-finance requirement is EUR 10,000, with access to the same level for each subsequent year. For shorter stays, the requirement is EUR 833 per month, capped at EUR 6,665 for eight months. Where course fees exceed EUR 6,000, at least EUR 6,000 must normally be paid before the visa application is accepted for decision; if fees are below EUR 6,000, they must be paid in full. Use Immigration Service Delivery's current checklist for the exact evidence required.

## Residence Permit

Students who are required to register their Irish immigration permission and intend to stay for more than 90 days must complete first-time registration after arrival. Since 13 January 2025, first-time registrations for the whole Republic of Ireland are handled by Immigration Service Delivery at Burgh Quay in Dublin rather than regional Garda registration offices. Appointments are booked through the ISD Customer Service Portal after arrival.

Stamp 2 registration normally costs EUR 300, unless an exemption applies. Renewals and stamp changes are completed online. Bring the current documents listed for Stamp 2, including enrolment, fee-payment and insurance evidence.
