Housing

Student halls (OeAD Housing, home4students, STUWO and peers) run roughly EUR 300 to 650 a month depending on city and room, and a reserved room doubles as the proof of accommodation the permit wants. Vienna's private market is regulated and, by capital-city standards, sane.

Remember the permit arithmetic: rent above EUR 386.43 a month raises the funds you must prove. A cheaper hall room literally lowers your visa requirement.
